Invisalign® for Adults
What is it?
Invisalign uses a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners that no one can tell you're wearing. So, you can smile more during treatment as well as after. They have also been called by patients invisible braces or clear braces, invisible retainers, or invisible nightguards. They are perfectly molded to your teeth and made with 3-D computer imaging technology that makes you visualize a step by step simulation of the gradual movement of your teeth. It has been proven effective after it has been used since 2000 in the US. This system is available to both adult and teen patients.
Why would I want it?
Not only are the aligners invisible, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment. Plus, brushing and flossing are no problem. They are also comfortable, with no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment. And no metal and wires usually means you spend less time in your doctor's office get ting adjustments. Invisalign® also allows you to view your own virtual treatment plan when you start so you can see how your straight teeth will look when your treatment is complete.
How does it work?
You wear each set of aligners for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move — little by little, week by week — until they have straightened to the final position. You'll visit about once every 6 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned.
How long would it take?
Total treatment time can vary from 3 months to 18 months depending on the difficulty of the case and the objectives of the treatment. A complimentary consultation can determine the estimated time needed to finish your treatment and achieve the goals that are set based on each individual case.
How many patients are being treated with Invisalign?
More than 1,000,000 patients worldwide have been treated with Invisalign®. The number of Invisalign smiles grows daily. It has been proven effective after it has been used for over 12 years in the US and Canada with constant implementation of updates and improvements since its introduction.
